The Sea Turtle offers some of the best technical diving in the Northeast. With our home port of Montauk, New York we are the closest run to the Norness, USS Bass, Suffolk, Spikefish, Andrea doria, Dixon, Coimbra, Jug and two wrecks that we have recently found, the Andrea Ted and Lob- Cod. Because of this, all these wrecks can be done, individually, in one day or multi-day trips to different wrecks can be arranged with overnight stays in Montauk or Block Island. We are rebreather friendly; most of the crew use CCR's. That doesn't mean, of course, that we are biased. We understand that OC is still alive and well. Double and stage tanks are available to charter customers. Tie-ins and unties are done by the crew. Your plan is your responsibility. The cockpit of the boat has ample room for doubles, stages, gear boxes, cameras and even those heavy scooters we all love so much. Most of our technical charters are one day affairs that include two dives with plenty of surface interval. Safety divers are available to check on you at 70' and 20'. Surface supplied O2 is always available at 20', but it should never be a diver's planned gas and is only there for convenience. Some of the wrecks include: Wreck Depth Boat Ride Coimbra - 190' 3.5hr Norness - 290' 4 hr Suffolk - 180' 2.5hr USS Bass - 155' 50min Dixon - 150' 1 hr Andrea Doria - 240' 7hr Lob-Cod - 145' 1 hr U-853 - 125' 2 hr Spikefish - 220' 4 hr Texas Tower - 185' 4hr (Shinnecock) Jug - 135' 1.5 hr Andrea Ted - 200' 2hr Larchmont - 130' 45min Metis - 140' 45min Lake Crystal - 130' 45min Oil Wreck 101- 150' 1.5hr Any dive over 150' will require the use of trimix and accelerated decompression. Certification of these techniques is required for every diver planning a trip with us. The Norness, Spikefish and Andrea Ted are deep dark dives. Prior experience in this type of diving is a must and will require proof. We're always looking for new wrecks and putting together search trips. Contact us for the next search trip or if you have a group that has something special in mind, give us a call: 631-725-0565 Let's go diving!
